Evaluation
Project Evaluation is completed by external evaluator Dr. Terry Cash.
Evaluation Criteria for the Annual Report include:
1. Number of SLP participants who completed project professional development
2. Number of SLP participants with pre and post-school site measures data
3. Number of SLP participants who showed an increase in their pre-post school site measures (these pre and post data are derived from the WV School Performance Index scores provided by the West Virginia Department of Education)
4. Number of SLP participants who showed no change in their pre-post school site measures
5. Number of SLP participants who showed a decrease in their pre-post school site measures
6. Number of SLP participants who have been rated by a principal evaluation system
7. Number of SLP graduates who have been rated as "effective" or "highly effective" by a principal evaluation system.
Dr. Cash uses the ISLLC Growth Assessment Tool that he developed to measure pre and post participant growth in the six domains of highly effective leadership to help with the narrative that follows the seven quantitative GEPRA measures noted above. The participants are rated by: the Training Coordinators, their Mentors, their Supervisors, and Self-Assessment. The tool requires evidence of understanding and demonstration of implementation of the domain concept. This data is then triangulated with qualitative data provided by the Training Coordinators and Mentors throughout the year.
Participant end-of-year training exit surveys and monthly training lesson exit surveys are also used to inform the strength and impact of the curriculum.
